Andratx Mallorca
The old town of Andratx is located in the south-western tip of Mallorca, in the middle of the valley of the Tramuntana mountains. Although the small harbour village of Port Andratx has a similar name to the town of Andratx, they are two different places. Andratx lies further inland and is a good 5 km from the small fishing village. If the small fishing village of Port Andratx is too exclusive and crowded for you, the properties in Andratx on Mallorca could be quite attractive.
The town of Andratx is home to around 8000 people, many of them wealthy. Andratx was founded before the Roman invasion in the 2nd century BC. The town has retained its ancient charm to this day. Typical are the countless small alleys that run through the entire town. The town can easily be distinguished by a newer and older part: In the upper part of the city, there are predominantly older properties characterised by baroque and gothic influences. In the lower part of the city, one finds newer and thus more modern properties. Around the valley of the town are mountain slopes with orange, olive and almond groves.
Unfortunately, properties in Andratx, Mallorca, are often overlooked because of the harbour town of the same name, Port Andratx.
